Confirmation 2024

Confirmation Date: Thursday, March 21 at 5:00 p.m.

Reconciliation Date for Confirmation: Thursday, March 14 at 7:00 p.m.

Confirmation Retreats – Location: Parish Hall

Saturday, December 9 from 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Attendance required for students and at least one parent. A team from The Culture Project will present two talks. Students and parents will be separated. Parents will go to the church for the Parent Talk (in Spanish) and students will remain in the parish hall for the presentation titled Social Media. Students and parents will bring a snack, lunch, and a drink.

Saturday, February 3, 2024 from 9:30 to 2:00 p.m. (students only).

Attendance is mandatory. The Culture Project will lead the retreat. The two presentations are Sexual Integrity so the students will be divided: boys and girls separated. The other presentation entitled Human Dignity is for the whole group together. Students will bring a snack, lunch, and a drink.

During this retreat, any student who has not been measured for a Confirmation robe will be measured and ordained to Rose Therese Gap and Gown Co., Brockton, Mass. Cost: $15 to be paid at the retreat. Retained by the student after use.

Student Responsibilities to be completed and turned in by February 4: These forms will need to be turned in as they are completed.

  • Parish Confirmation Registration Information
  • Hours of Service Report: 5 hours of volunteer service outside the home.
  • Report of the Patron Saint of Confirmation
  • Letter to the pastor explaining why you want to be confirmed.
  • Letter of eligibility obtained at the sponsor’s parish. The information will be reviewed, signed, and stamped by the pastor.

Youth Meeting:   Sunday February 25th at 5:30 PM. Attendance is mandatory.

Reconciliation Preparation:  Saturday, March 9, 2024 at 9:15am. Attendance is mandatory. 

In this retreat, the emphasis will be on preparation for Reconciliation, ongoing review of Confirmation catechesis, formation of ranks and seating in the church, as well as any other necessary logistics.  Additionally, videos and activities related to the sacrament.  Young people should bring their own lunch and soft drinks.

 

Reconciliation, Confirmation Practice and the Sacrament of Confirmation – Location:  St. Patrick Church

Thursday, March 14, 2024: 7:00 PM 

Sacrament of Reconciliation Church for Confirmation Candidates, Parents, and Godparents. “The family that prays together, stays together.”

Wednesday, March 20 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM

Confirmation Practice with Godparents at St. Patrick’s Church

Thursday, March 21: Confirmation Mass: 5:00 PM

It will possibly last an hour and a half to two hours.

Parking is often an issue. The sooner the candidates and sponsors arrive, the better.

Students must enter the Parish Hall (basement) through the Chestnut St. entrance by 4:00 p.m. dressed in their Confirmation gown. The bishop will speak with the students prior to Mass. Punctuality is important. Students will line up and head to the doors of the Church at 4:45 p.m.
